A little Bit About Us

We are Lane & Allison Kendrick, a husband & wife grooming duo! Our entire lives revolve around four legged animals whether that’s dogs, cows or horses & we wouldn’t have that any other way! Lane and I have many irons in the fire but one of our most enjoyed and rewarding endeavors is taking care of & pampering our beloved doggy clients. We enjoy all aspects of owning a small grooming business and mostly enjoy getting to visit and speak with friends we’ve made in our community that choose to support our business time and time again.

Unlike other dog grooming businesses in our area, we offer an appointment based - one on one grooming experience for your pet. This means our time is specifically set aside for one pet and one pet ONLY. When you schedule an appointment with Lane or I, your pet receives our undivided love and care. 

Being a one on one grooming business has allowed us to have a more relaxing and calm environment and one way we prioritize maintaining such a calm experience is by never utilizing any sort of cage or kenneling system. This insures your pets comfort and reminds them of their home-like surroundings. 

When you become apart of the Porch Poodle Family, we don’t just treat you or your pet like just another customer, you are treated as our friend and your pet is treated like one of our very own! 

At The Porch Poodle, we don’t cut corners. We use top notch, non-irritating, safe & luxurious products, the absolute best we can get our hands on. We are a small spa but don’t let that fool you. We are fully equipped here with some of the best products & tools in the industry.
In addition to our products & systems, I’m always looking for new ways & opportunities to learn, innovate & grow by attending classes frequently in continuing my education and skill set. 

We have many success stories behind us on winning the hearts & gaining the trust of doggy clients who were previously unable to be groomed professionally due to anxiety, aggression etc. or who haven’t yet been professionally groomed at all and are just starting their pampering journey. This has became a huge driving force behind us prioritizing a connection with each dog we care for. 

Collectively, I have over 10 years of experience grooming and in the later part of those 10 years, I have received more breed specific specialized education. I have received various grooming awards and continuing education certificates which are proudly displayed in our shop as a reminder of how far I’ve come. 

Lane has a long history of fitting and showing cattle where an eye and steady hand for superior conformational manipulation via the use of agriculture shears are of upmost importance and value. It wasn’t long after I had the vision of owning and operating a grooming business that Lane knew he could play a big role and contribute his knowledge and experience in many ways. 

In addition to our foundational education, we are also apart of a community of master groomers who offer continuous education opportunities which we frequently invest our time and energy into.
